It's the first Wednesday of the month-- which means it's time for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Support Group--
(I know I haven't been blogging lately-- but it's been too nice outside to make time to write AND blog!)
But, onto one of my many (infinite?) insecurities:
I can't, for the life of me, seem to allow my husband to read my stories. I'm so afraid of his opinion more than anyone else-- Why is that?
I have a ton of CP's -- and he isn't one of them. Why is it so hard for me to let him read my work?
Am I the only one experiencing this issue? Gah!
lol I have the same issue. Hubby has not read my work and I'm not sure I'm letting him either o_0
ReplyDeleteOkay, phew! Makes me feel better!
DeleteI'll be lucky if I can get my dh to read mine. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy guess is, you feel that way because he's close to you. It's easier to take criticism from a stranger.
Great post! :)
IWSG #118 until Alex culls the list again.
gah! ain't that the truth!
DeleteNah, that's not uncommon. You'r afraid he'll think you're weird or something. I only WISH I could get my husband to read my stuff.
ReplyDelete~ A new follower and Alex's #3 minion of the month, Nancy
haha if he doesn't know how weird I am by now...... ;)
Deletebecause you can't turn him off by the push of delete for email or just turning off your computer to your CP. your hubs will haunt you!! :) no worries, they can also support and lift you!
ReplyDeleteamen to that!
DeleteI'm about to face this, and it's really worrying me. I don't know if I can let my Gentleman Friend read my work, because it'll really hurt my feelings if he doesn't like it! :/
ReplyDeleteahhhh! good luck! tell me how it turns out! I'm sure he'll LOVE it!
DeleteGot the same issue with my wife. I rarely (and I mean, rarely) let her read any of my writing. Because of what I write (quirky seriously R-NC17 fiction) I'm very afraid that she'll look at me extremely weird and not in a good light.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one afraid of what my SO thinks!
